What makes the Wash-Pak unique compared to other so-called hygiene or toiletry packs on the market today is the collapsible waterproof canvas sink. Without the sink, the Wash-Pak would not have been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office or the USPTO. The large “full face” mirror, though not a patented feature, also stands in contrast to other products available in the marketplace that either have no mirror or one that’s one-quarter of the size.
The collapsible sink is easily and quickly:
- Stored by folding upward 90o and secured with two webbing loop.
- Deployed by disconnecting the webbing loops and folding the sink down 90o where it is then supported by two webbing straps.
- Drained after use and dried with a cloth or paper towel.
- Filled from the large 9” x 9” sink top opening and drained from a 3/8” drain hole without spilling which allows indoor as well as outdoor use.
- Support eye glasses, contact case, contact solution, lotion and shampoo bottles, etc.., on a 9" wide x 3” deep sink shelf which is removable when not needed.
The sink and sink shelf (with the mirror) allows the user to perform tasks such as:
- Washing their face,
- Washing their hands,
- Cleaning personal areas (sponge bath), especially for people living “on the street” or in homeless shelters when showers aren’t as readily available,
- Brushing and flossing their teeth,
- Shaving,
- Putting in and taking out contact lenses (the most recent version has a shelf on the sink),
- Applying makeup,
- Washing their hair,
- Cleaning injuries for basic first aid using first aid supplies (bandages, ointments, gauze, etc…),
- Applying lotion to their face,
- Washing dishes and utensils (NO pointy sharp knives)
- etc…
